GBA Update Fall 2024

Elsewhere in this UPDATE issue, a number of key GBA initiatives and actions that I have been pleased to be part of have been outlined. In addition, I believe that GBA’s profile and voice have been enhanced through our strong participation in important Great Lakes issues such as the Great Lakes Water Quality Agreement meetings, and in working with partners such as the Federation of Ontario Cottagers’ Associations (FOCA), Canadian Environmental Law Association, Safe Quiet Lakes, Save Georgian Bay, and the newly formed Great Lakes Ecoregion Network. As we learn from our Indigenous friends and neighbours, we are responsible for protecting the land, water, air and all the creatures that rely on a healthy ecosystem. This all comes back to working together for a common purpose and what better purpose is there than protecting this special place for future generations?
